To quote the Dalai Lama, "True compassion is not just an emotional response but a firm commitment founded on reason. Therefore, a truly compassionate attitude toward others does not change even if they behave negatively. Through universal altruism, you develop a feeling of responsibility for others: the wish to help them actively overcome their problems."

Thanks, Jacquie! But I'm just one person putting my shoulder to the wheel. Fortunately, today there are millions of people of like mind active globally. We’re slowly getting to know ourselves as an evolving global consciousness. But as I point out here, evolution takes time, and a positive outcome for life on this planet is by no means guaranteed.

Hi Stuart:

I admire the actions you took to create this site, to think through your thoughts and to share them here. You are a bit rare in this world, in a very good way. Rather than just wishing you could connect, or keeping your realities isolated within yourself, you have acted, taken time, energy, motivation, and you have created some public web places that put you "out there", in an effort to help us all to improve our relationship with the earth. When I read your invitation on LBio today, I just thought "hurray for Stuart". The world is in serious need of leaders like you. Actions do indeed speak louder than words. So many of us feel bogged down and powerless to effect change. Your creating, and sharing, is an example of the good humanity that we all perhaps wish to be. Kudo's, and let us know on this list how this goes, too. Jacquie
